As the Director of the Immune Assessment Laboratory, Dr. Joanna Baginska oversees immune monitoring, proteomics analyses, blood processing, and banking operations for clinical trials' correlative studies. Additionally, she serves as the DFCI CyToF lead for the Cancer Immune Monitoring and Analysis Centers (CIMAC-CIDC) Network established by the National Cancer Institute. With over a decade of multinational experience in immunology, including roles at the RIKEN Institute in Japan and postdoctoral fellowships at the Broad Institute and the University of Luxembourg, Joanna joined DFCI in 2019. Dr. Baginska earned her PhD in Immuno-Oncology from Paris XI University in 2013 and holds Master’s degrees in Medical Biotechnology and Immuno-Oncology from the prestigious École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay. Specializing in human immune monitoring using mass cytometry, clinical trial immune assessment, and biomarker discovery, she brings expertise to the forefront of research.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Joanna enjoys spending time with her partner and embracing her role as a mama-bear to three sons, Andre, Adam, and Louis.
